There is no role for elective delivery in a woman with a suboptimally dated pregnancy. Although guidelines for indicated late-preterm and early-term deliveries depend on accurate determination of gestational age, women with suboptimally dated pregnancies should be managed according to these same guidelines because of the lack of a superior alternative.
The best clinical estimate of gestational age should serve as the basis for decisions regarding antenatal corticosteroid exposure in women with suboptimally dated pregnancies who are at perceived risk of preterm delivery.

Before the guidelines, management of a newborn with meconium-stained amniotic fluid included suctioning of the oropharynx and nasopharynx on the perineum after the delivery of the head but before the delivery of the shoulders. The guidelines did not support this practice because routine intrapartum suctioning does not prevent or alter the course of meconium aspiration syndrome in vigorous newborns. However, the guidelines did support intubation of the trachea and suctioning of meconium or other aspirated material from beneath the glottis in nonvigorous newborns.
In , the guidelines were updated. Routine intubation and tracheal suctioning are no longer required. If the infant is vigorous with good respiratory effort and muscle tone, the infant may stay with the mother to receive the initial steps of newborn care. If the infant born through meconium-stained amniotic fluid presents with poor muscle tone and inadequate breathing efforts, the initial steps of resuscitation should be completed under the radiant warmer.
Appropriate intervention to support ventilation and oxygenation should be initiated as indicated for each infant. Infants with meconium-stained amniotic fluid should no longer routinely receive intrapartum suctioning, whether they are vigorous or not. In addition, meconium-stained amniotic fluid is a condition that requires the notification and availability of an appropriately credentialed team with full resuscitation skills, including endotracheal intubation.

Learn how to create alternative layouts. Because your layout should stretch to fit the current screen, so too should the bitmaps that you attach to any of the layout views. However, stretching an ordinary bitmap in arbitrary directions can result in strange scaling artifacts and skewed images.
To solve this, Android supports nine-patch bitmaps in which you specify small pixel regions that are stretchable—the rest of the image remain unscaled. Learn more about nine-patch bitmaps. The pixel density is the number of pixels within a physical area of the screen and is referred to as dpi dots per inch. Maintaining density independence is important because, without it, a UI element such as a button might appear larger on a low-density screen and smaller on a high-density screen because when the pixels are larger—as shown in figure 2—a few pixels can go a long way. The Android system helps you achieve density independence by providing density-independent pixels dp or dip as a unit of measurement that you should use instead of pixels px. For example, if your app provides bitmaps only for medium density mdpi screens, Android scales them up when on a high-density screen so that the image occupies the same physical space on the screen. This can cause visible scaling artifacts in bitmaps. So your app should include alternative bitmaps at a higher resolution. Learn how to provide alternative bitmaps. For simple types of images usually icons , you can avoid creating separate images for each density by using vector graphics. Because vector graphics define the illustration with geometric line paths instead of pixels, they can be drawn at any size without scaling artifacts.

In some cases, such as for Wear OS, you should re-think your app's user experience and build an app that's specialized for that device. Although the Android framework and tools provide everything you need to make an app available to all screen configurations, you still might decide you don't want your app available on some screen configurations due to some sort of incompatibility.
