In Omaha Poker System, the highest hand a player can have is having all four aces. Having all four 10s, Jacks, Queens or Kings are also considered as high hands.
If the player does not have these cards, he or she may still be able to obtain a high hand for as long as his or her hand includes two pairs, two double suits or one pair and two cards with the same suit as those in the community cards. Ironically, combinations that would be considered as low hand cards are harder to determine because of the variety of combinations.
This can be done based on the rank of the cards as well as the pairs and suited cards that the players may use. Discerning this may be extremely difficult and takes a while to master and practice. You may wonder, why bother in analyzing a low hand and not just concentrate on trying to get a high hand?
On the other hand, if a player plays a low hand and wins, he or she is entitled to the portions allotted not just for the low hands, but those for the players with the high hands as well. Since it is every poker player's goal of winning all the chips, playing a low hand is more profitable than just concentrating on getting a high hand.

I think this book is valuable for all aspiring Omaha 8 players. The book focuses very much on L08 and a bit on PL08 but does not explore NLO8 which has probably become the most popular of all Omaha 8 games.

I did not like the format of the book at all. It consisted of approximately to words per page, where I believe the average book is probably around per page, and therefore the book is double as long then you would think. It took me forever to get through the chapters and it dragged on a lot. There is however a wealth of knowledge, but most of it is repetition from other books.
Having said that I do not think I could write a better Omaha 8 book, so I think the authors did a great job. This book wont turn you into a winning player, but will definitely add a few moves to your arsenal and give you a broader understanding of the game if you needed one.
